Conceptual Work in Public Space
São Paulo Biennial 2025
Satsang means “being-together in truth.” It names a field of presence where the ordinary is no longer separate from the sacred, and where awareness is shared rather than possessed.
I create temporary fields in public life where strangers and I may step into presence together. This practice arises from non-dual awareness: the recognition that no distinction remains between sacred and profane, self and other. The work is not apart from my life; it is the way I live it openly.
Each encounter is unrepeatable and irreducible, a satsang where truth reveals itself in listening and presence, a portal of infinite possibility that can never appear the same way twice. I am shaped by teachers of emptiness and compassion, by the rigor of artists who gave their lives to presence, and by the example of those who built conditions for lightning to strike. Yet this practice belongs to no lineage but the encounter itself.
I place myself as participant, collaborator, and witness. To offer presence in this way is to stand exposed before the world, risking my very way of seeing it, as open to negation as it is to affirmation. Each meeting distills a lifetime into a fleeting exchange of presence: nothing prescribed, everything possible. What I give, I give so that others may recognize in themselves the same capacity for truth.
